@LordWellington15 I'm South African but I live in the U.S. and i often visit my family and SA is still a great country to visit and it is still by far the safest and wealthiest of all African countries. Yes crime has gone up immensely, but for a good reason....Apartheid ended.

I like the orange white and blue flag better... What they did in 1994 was a probably big mistake, the volkstaat was the best idea after the violence spread in the 1980s... Hate crimes on whites are rampant and it is no longer a good place.... The only hope is a volkstaat unless the majority start electing Democratic Alliance and decide to unite... With the ANC the country is going downhill and poverty and crime has increased because of that... If Malema becomes president it will be a travesty

The RSA comes later, when the South Africans go for Republic status.
I think there were only two Boer Republics, though there had been some more short lived ones before in Natal. You had Orange Free State and Republic of Transvaal. The union Jack, I think signifies the English South Africans in Natal and the Cape. So the Union of Four Provinces, essentially.
